Our Story
-When the Northern Virginia Wrestling Club (NOVA WC or NOVA) was founded in 2015, we saw a gap in the wrestling experience in the DMV region. We wanted to create an independent facility where any student wrestler could train, regardless of school affiliation, geographic location or skill level.
WE BUILD CHAMPIONS!
NOVA began as a group of eight wrestlers training in the James Madison High School gym. From the beginning, we have taught around the principle that wrestling is a transformational vehicle on- and off-the-mat. We believe that our sport is a incredible means to teaching the skills for upward mobility in life, and its benefits extend far beyond the mat. If training is leveraged in the right way, we know it can change hearts and minds. At NOVA, we want each of our athletes to compete to the best of his or her ability; but, we also want to see them grow as a self-confident individuals.
Since 2015, our club has grown exponentially. We have over 200 wrestlers, a professional coaching staff, which includes mostly college level wrestlings, and what we beleive is the best independent wrestling facility in the Northern Virginia area. We are invested into our community, its people and are proud to teach kids from all walks of life. We take pride in the professionalism of our training and the dedication of our coaches. Most of all we value the strengths that each student brings to our club.
